And there’s no way to control the pain! I’m supposed get a shot of some sort but I have no idea when or how! My arm has hurt for a month or more! Very badly! The dr said it’s a compressed nerve.

Well, the nerve goes from my wrist all the way up my arm through my bicep into my shoulder and all I can take is Tylenol though the dr said my gabapentin should help?? It isn’t really. I can’t take NSAIDs. Basically, I have to suffer! I put my brace on but it only reduces the pain a little bit! Using my arm hurts like a son of a *****! And all that’s left is narcotics and nobody will go there- despite horrible pain. I have physical therapy but not until September! Fml!

It’s called “Radial Tunnel syndrome of right upper extremity “.

I fell out of bed while still asleep and woke up mid fall and stuck my hand out to catch myself. Bad idea. I thought my arm was broken but it’s not. It’s the nerve! I’m in so much pain!

@Moose72 I had therapy for a frozen shoulder and the only thing that helped the pain was when the therapist used some special tape and lifted whatever anatomy of mine was pressing on the nerve. The pain went away immediately. I believe it's called Kinesiology tape. You just need someone to apply it correctly. I don't know if it would work on your pain though if it's originating in the wrist and traveling upwards towards the shoulder.

I'm sorry no one is taking your pain seriously. That's why I stopped My AP's due to jaw pain.

I asked urgent care. They said ask my primary. Primary said try everything you’ve tried that’s either not working, lidocaine cream or patches that have a short window. Tylenol which doesn’t touch the pain. Wait for pt which starts in a month! They KNOW how painful this condition is!

There's kinesiology tape and athletic tape. Kinesiology tape is stretchier (better if you don't want to completely immobilize) and athletic tape is more rigid (better if you want complete immobilization).

Perhaps a wrist splint to provide some support Moose? Of course don't wear it all day because you don't want to lose muscle and range of motion. I definitely wouldn't lift anything heavier than your cellphone with that wrist/arm until you see the therapist but do keep moving it. I'm so sorry you're suffering so much. Also sorry if I'm sounding like a know it all. I'm just grasping for straws to try and find you some comfort.

How much gabapentin is good for nerve pain? I’m on 1800 and I don’t notice a difference. I called and asked the office to ask Pdoc for more for my arm.

I googled it 1800 is the standard dose for nerve pain. It clears though the kidneys so be wary of a larger dose.

My surgeon for my ankle told me that Vitamin B is good for nerve pain. You'd have to google what B vitamin specifically. I didn't look into it because I already take a B complex daily. It might help?

To top it off I am hungry! I ran out of food stamps because they got lowered. But I’m making noodles. At least I have that!
