Mom and I went shopping! Stuff I needed for the wedding! Shoes, pantyhose, a bra that fits!!, jewelry - a necklace and earrings….. I think that’s all. We were at the mall for a couple hours! She must’ve spent $300! Maybe more! She wants me to look good for the wedding! We got the jewelry at Chico's- one of my mom's favorite stores. I found shoes that I can stand in for hours. N2 has basically done everything for her wedding herself so nobody knows what we'll find when we get there- both wedding and reception. I can't drink, so I'll be getting either soft drinks or mocktails. Just as well- I don't really like drinking anyway. I have no idea what type of food she's picked. Is there going to be a band or a DJ?

I have OT therapy at 11:00 today. Thank goodness it's not at 6-something like PT this Friday. I took a Covid/fluA/fluB test yesterday- nothing came up so it's just a cold.

My T keeps harping on my getting a job through MRS- whatever that stands for. I told him I'd rather volunteer- otherwise my finances will be all out of whack. And volunteering gets me out and doing but I don't have to worry that my rent will go up, etc. if he keeps pushing me I'm going to have to put my foot down. I hate to be contrary but I don't like being badgered into doing something that I feel will be negative. Explaining this to him rationally doesn't seem to work! He keeps asking me don't I want more money but all that would happen is I'd be paying more for my bills and rent so I don't want to do that. Am I making sense? I am willing to do a volunteer job at the library. But not this MRS thing he keeps harping about. I don't need to be fired from yet another job.

But enough of that. With this nasty cold, I warned the OT people that I was sick and they didn't want to get sick too but they don't care.

Anyway, I'm going back to sleep.

I'm so sorry your therapist is not understanding. I have the opposite with my therapist He worries even volunteering will throw me over the edge. If you would like to earn money but keep stable americorp volunteers living stipends doesn't count toward assistance or SSI. For us to be stable without assistance we have to make close to 100k because of medical. Honestly do you like your therapist? I worry about conflicting records when SSI reviews you. It's great you were able to get tons of things you needed for the wedding. Half way through my wedding my dad went and got my combat boots because my shoes weren't comfy enough for the rest of the night.

I am beginning to NOT like him! He is controlling in a way asking me to get a job through MRS! He asks me every time I see him! I want to fire him!

Simply working with or receiving training from Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) will not affect your Section 8 or SSI benefits. In fact, the Social Security Administration (SSA) views participating in vocational rehabilitation through MRS as a sign of good faith. However, the earned income you make from a job found through MRS will affect both your Section 8 rent and your monthly SSI payments
