I FINALLY got a new job!!!! I start the Monday after next. I found out last week and gave my supervisor two weeks' notice last Wednesday -- she was sad, but she also understood. She is in the same boat, apparently. This job is a little bit closer, and it pays much better -- roughly 20% more. Also, my mom told me she told my dad that we (my sister and I) are not responsible for their happiness and that we are allowed to live our own lives, regardless of how they think we should be living them. I hope she is telling the truth, but either way, I appreciate that she had this revelation and told my dad, because he has been very maudlin lately. So, things are looking up -- hopefully I don't ruin everything.

Thats a nice raise! I was gonna say, dad could have opened his pocketbook earlier to help when it would have made a difference - i think thats what he is regretting - his choices, not yours. I once asked my mother if she would help me if i wanted to have a child, and she told me outright no.
