Ghosting...on forums. What's that and how does it work? Why would it be needed/required? Mods could chime in too if they like.

I’ve only heard of ghosting in the context of unexpectedly going AWOL on someone not so much on a forum where it’s somewhat expected people come and go and typically but not always come back.
Shadow banning I can’t really think of where this actually happens (it I guess can happen on Reddit) but it’s when a user has been “banned” without their knowledge (so they think they’re commenting and posting but they’re not)

I’ve noticed this too. But I guess people just like to stick to certain threads.
I feel ghosted as well
