I meant to watch and slept on the couch. Alarm went off in bedroom and I didn't hear it. Skies were clear as clear could get too. Argh! I love all that celestial stuff.

The eclipse hasn't happened yet, as far as I know. Wikipedia and the Old Farmer's Almanac both give time frames for it but unfortunately they're over an hour apart. Google's "AI Overview" echoes the Wikipedia data so I'll assume they're both right, not just quoting the same wrong numbers.

The middle of the eclipse is supposed to be around 6:30 AM Eastern time or 3:30 AM Pacific.

It hasn't started yet. As above poster stated. It's only visible on the west coast in the US.

What??? I DIDN'T miss it??? I checked our weather a few hrs ago...we're overcast. *cuss cuss cuss*

Me buggering up details/scheduling etc is nothing new. Let's check out the door...maybe we're having a clear spot. Yup! Can see moon barely though high-ceiling clouds...it indeed has started! 1/4 or so covered? 1/5th?
Well I'm happy now!

I had a cloud problem here, too. Most of the times I looked for the moon, it was nowhere to be seen. Once, apparently during totality, I noticed a dim, muddy-looking bright spot on a cloud in about the right position to be the moon. That was it.
