And it always works I guess. Just by saying the name. It kinda seems like a different version of Karen. I know a few Jessica’s and I went to school with a bunch of them. They are nice. The ones I know. Well except for one.

I’ve never heard anything like that. I haven’t met any parents who do that. Where did you hear that?

Also wouldn’t kids question it? My grandson is 4 and if I call him Jessica he’d most certainly have an issue with that. He knows it’s not his name lol

It’s a trend. Or at least it was a week ago. It was all over social media media and Inside Edition reported on it.

It’s a simple distraction technique. You say something random to distract a kid and stop the cycle of tantrum. It doesn’t need to be a name or a random name

Tic Tok isn’t a real world.

I know Tik Tok isn’t a real world but people who don’t live under a rock know what’s going on from it. Along with other random things

I don’t live under a rock lol

The thing is that those people on tik tok who are saying “Jessica” are just people who watch tik tok and learn from it. I know a lot of parents and kids and to my knowledge none say Jessica to calm their kids. Now those few who learn stuff from tik tok might do that. But it’s not that popular.

I just asked my daughter and she was laughing at me. They belong to a large group of parents of young kids. That’s just not a thing to do.

I think if you (hypothetical you, not personally you) see stuff on social media, it might appear that’s all kind of stuff is happening out and about. But it’s not. It’s just a social media thing

Mr Meaty was a Nikelodian cartoon that was set in a mall. All the girls were named Ashley.

It might be kinda like if you ask about “the red ball over there” while pointing to a blue ball. They stop their temper tantrum and question the incongruency of what you said to what they know.

Lol I am sure you can distract tantruming toddler by yelling “Ashley” lol

My grandson comments on all names lately “it’s a funny name”. He’d probably say that lol
