So I have travel reservations for next week. I plan on a 4 day trip to North Carolina. I will be flying down. I have to admit I haven't flown anyplace since 2012. I didn't mean to, I just got tired of travel.

I am afraid I have totally forgotten (or am not updated) on everything.

My plan is to take a taxi to the commuter rail (that I take every day) to get to the airport. And then rent a car at my destination. I am confused about the rental care. It has this GPS package -- do I need it? Does that mean I can't use my phone on the car?

Any other things to remind me of?

@NatalieJastrow I sure wish I could help you here but I haven’t a clue about all of these new fandangled GPS packages. I’m hoping by posting this it will send your post back up to the top.

Thanks anyway. A friend told me I don't need the GPS package. My phone will connect to the car just like at home. But I have to tell you the cost for the rental car was insane. I will have to do a lot of driving just to make up for it.

I have heard of bizzare things like "people asking you to move on your plane" and that worries me. I also worry that since my last plane trip I have entered menopause and can hardly stand for one hour without having to piddle. I just hope it isn't too uncomfortable.

Maybe try those new period or incontinence panties. I wore them to my eye surgery with a pair of regular cotton panties on first, just in case! The absorbent ones feel kinda plasticky.

Oh no.... I am in diapers at the age of 55. AHHH... Thankfully the flight is only 2 hours.

I have mentioned before how much it seems to be important to others that I travel. So I fully intended to travel this time... I have even made all my reservations. I have mentioned it only to a few people. Some necessary because they are covering for me at work.

3 people. THREE people. Called me yesterday to find out more about it. One insists that I text her when I arrive. For what purpose? She is like, so I know you made it. What exactly is she going to do if I don't? No one did these things when I was 30 and traveling.

It just makes me not want to go. Why is it so important to them? I feel like I am only going to get them off my back. I do not really understand them.

I think the GPS is for if you lose cell service. Then you won't lose your map.
