Thinking of getting new dr. My NP is tired of me. Hospital found her for me last year. She tried hard but she's kind of ignorant. She is online and 2 hrs away.
What's a good resource for online Dr in State? I think Psychology Today is only local Drs.
Need someone with good experience.

Would your insurance have a list of them? By online doctor do you mean the one that does tele medicine? Local shouldn’t be a problem as long as they are doing virtual appointments

Whatever your health insurance is usually dictates the doctors you can see. You need to go to the member portal to log in and there usually is a "find a doctor" or "find care" link somewhere on the front page.

here in my location theres no need for online places to choose from because its the law that every american must have health insurance plans and the insurance companies their self notify the people signed up with them who the treatment providers are that they can choose from or be assigned.

by its the law I mean its federal law that all americans have some sort of health insurance plans.

for example - Medicaid, Medicare, a combination of the two. the insurance plans that are provided as part of their employment benefits, or privately paid for insurance plans.

insurance companies in the USA send people who sign up with them a members handbook, a welcome letter and two cards.

the hand book tells people what their insurance package is, what services / medications are covered and what treatment providers are considered "in network" that they can choose from or be assigned to.

the welcome letter is thanking a person for signing up for the insurance plan and important information like a phone number for you to call if you need anything. and in .......some....... cases the letter will also include who your assigned primary care physician is, what dental agency that has been assigned to you and what mental health agency you have been assigned to.

the card has important information on it like who your primary care physician is, who is your dental agency, who is your mental health agency. and their phone numbers, and the insurance company phone number. the card also has your file number with the insurance and your prescription (RX) file number.

there is also a website address on the letter, card and in the handbook where people can find a detailed listing of treatment providers that accept that insurance plan, detailed listing of medications the insurance plan pays for.

here in the USA since its federal law that all americans have health insurance either through medicaid, medicare, their place of employment or privately pay for their own insurance plans all a person has to do when they want to change treatment providers is contact the insurance company phone number on their insurance card, or in their members handbook or welcome letter.

then the insurance company tells them who is accepting new patients and what the waiting list time frame is.

most waiting lists are 2-4 years long. there is a huge shortage of treatment providers here in the USA.

most here in my location do not do the hop from one treatment provider to another trying to find that perfect fit. instead, they work with their treatment providers to work out a solution both can be happy with, with the understanding that they can change treatment providers if they want to, but expect to be without a treatment provider for anywhere between a year to two years, while waiting for the availability of a treatment provider that is accepting new patients.

again to change your treatment providers just call the phone number on the back of your insurance plan card.

if you do not have medicaid, medicare, employment health insurance plan or privately paying for a health insurance plan contact social services. fill out some papers to see if you qualify for low-income health insurance coverage (Medicaid)

Never had good luck going to Medicare website and finding a decent dr. My NP is virtual. I'd rather look State-wide for a good virtual dr. The better Drs don't take Medicare. A lot of these NPs are foreigners and don't know what they're doing, don't understand Americans, etc. My NP is American. All the local Drs at my last residence were foreigners and didn't know what they were doing. I'm moving next week.
