I always joked about how my Crookshanks wasn’t the brightest. Then I found out that there is a theory that orange cats aren’t very bright and there’s this joke that they only have one brain cell
Gary is a black cat and is pretty intelligent. He knows his name and will get on the bed when I call him.

MD, I don't believe coat color has anything to do with intelligence or personality. I had an orange boy who was one of the smartest cat I ever had. Have an orange boy now. He is bright about things that benefit him. That doesn't mean he is dumb about other things. He just doesn't give a rat's patootie about things that don't involve him.
To me judging animals by coat color is like judging people by hair color. You know... all blondes are dumb, redheads have firey tempers. It's all a load of hooey. |

The hair color reminds me of when I was switching therapists and the one I was seeing said “how about her? Pretty red hair.” Like the hair color mattered on a therapist.
