The vet has diagnosed my 5 year old chihuahua with a significant heart murmur. He’s been put on medication 2x a day. I didn’t have the heart to ask her if it’s life threatening she was giving us so many different options.

Does anyone else have a pet with a heart murmur that’s on meds?

I am sorry to hear that @Crazy Hitch - that may be manageable with meds. Little dogs seem to have problems. Our Yorkie was diagnosed with mouth cancer at age 5 and lived till age 13.

You might ask the vet about diet that may be supportive and be careful about exposing them to excessive heat as that may put more stress on the heart.
