Any experience with remeron? Started it last week. Not sure why. I need something for agitation because it rules me and I can't do anything. Feel little less agitated but I think it gives me akathesia. I've taken everything for agitation and my NP is at a loss. I can't go up on Seroquel because it makes me tired and akathesia.

They prescribed it for me for akathisia and sleep but it just made me hangry

All I wanted to do on it was eat and sleep. It was bad for weight gain for me. I was never, ever full on it. I didn't have issues with akathasia on it.

I recall it as being sedating. It didn't help me at all. The only SSRI that I seemed to be compatible with is escitalopram/lexapro. I've tried most everything else, including the tricyclics.

I stopped it because didn't do much and think it screwed up my sleep. I've tried everything as well since 1986 and not much has helped. Lexapro made me agitated during the first dose - I was in the store when the dose hit me and felt very agitated.
I increased my Seroquel slightly and has helped a little but my dreams are out of control. Very intense.

I tried Remeron for sleep, but it stopped working after several weeks, so I discontinued it.

For ameliorating EPS, including akathisia, I highly recommend Gabapentin. It also improves the sleep architecture. I also recommend Vit B6, 250-350 mg, and vitamin B-complex (two separate supplements), for EPS amelioration. Both help me, and I am very prone to EPS and had horrible akathisia on high doses of Seroquel years ago, before I discovered those EPS amelioration tools.
