I went to see a new therapist today, won't bore you with the why, and mostly it was a moderately positive experience, apart from the fact that everything I wrote (I really struggle to talk so just write things instead) she repeated back to me, and t just felt like I'd spent £70 talking to a parrot for 50 minutes. Has anyone else ever had a therapist like that, and if so did you find it annoying? If so, did you tell them and how did they respond?:I don't think I could work with her without getting frustrated... I don't need to hear my words said back to me. I understand why they do it, but I carefully choose and consider my words most of the time, so don't feel I get any benefit from them being repeated! I'm seeing another lady next week, so have time to make a choice.
