Does anybody have specific goals that they would need to practice in interactions? If so, would you like to set your own goals and buddy with me?

Some of my goals are to be assertive and maybe a couple of other things.

Message me and we can see if our goals mesh at all!

Good idea, @ChronicReader!! I use ChatGPT to plan my projects and break them down into smaller actionable tasks.

I also have a buddy already, but I hope you find someone because it sure can help!!

Since you read, have you ever heard of the book "Atomic Habits"? I hear it's quite good.

Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg is a great book. The author of Atomic Habits had one of his main ideas, which he renamed as habit nesting, from taking BJ Fogg's free one week course on Tiny Habits. And I recommend the course, too, which you can take multiple times.

How do you plan to become more assertive in interactions with a skills buddy?

Apologies for the delay, I had lost the password.

I'll keep an eye out for that book, thank you!

As for how I would practice assertiveness skills with a buddy, I was thinking of something like role playing where we'd talk about whatever and every so often they would use one of the techniques that tend to trip me up (ex DARVO: Deny Attack Reverse).
I think that because these behaviors come out of left field they tend to take me by suprise. I think I need both to have plans on how to react and then drill the skill.

Have you ever struggled with assertiveness?

I've heard of "Atomic Habits," but I've never read it. I'll see if I come across it the next time I'm at the library.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Yes, I have.

In the Relationships and Communication, you can see my thread about not having the guts to call people out when they give me unsolicited advice, both trivial and bizarre. I do struggle with assertiveness for sure.
