Hi all,
Have any of you ever disclosed about your past abuse to friends/family after many years of holding it inside? This is probably my next step, as my therapist thinks it will really help with the heaviness I feel inside of me all the time. Did it make you feel any lighter? xx

I did, to my husband, yes, but only to him.
It helped a little, but the pain, the trauma is still there, something I'm still dealing with. It did help to feel I wasn't hiding such a significant event in my life from him.
